The intention of the International Tree Society is to foster appreciation, love, and connection with the trees in our environment to the widest possible audience through:
- interactive sharing about the environments and ecosystems that we live in
- educating people about the importance of trees for all life
- celebrating the beauty of trees in our communities through the arts
- participating in an intention to plant trees to support carbon sequestration in our world- one person, one tree at a time
- honoring individuals who do work to sustain the environment

 Send a photo of yourself beside a tree in your garden, community, or wild area that you love. Describe the tree, why you chose it, and the ecosystem that you live in.
- Members Photo Gallery & Blog
- Our annual e-news-letter with reports about historic trees, special people who care for the environment, and information about the world's oldest forests.
- You will be able to communicate with other tree lovers throughout the world in our blog.
- You can participate in our art contest for the most unusual or beautiful tree art.
 Winners will receive a small but special prize.
- You can nominate an individual
 who does work to plant trees or support healthy ecosystems in their region. The annual winner will recieve a Free week stay at Future Forests Retreat Cottage in Hawaii, and a guided walk in a Hawaiian forest.
